Black History Month

BHMWe are half way through the month of February, Black history month. It’s supposed to be a month of celebration. It’s when you kick back and bath in all the glory of your past successes, however, now is not the time. This is when you dig deeper and not just go the extra mile but for us the extra twenty miles.

We must think hard about what we want out of life, what we know that we deserve, and go get it! The Bible says that “We must study to show our selves approved.” That goes not just for the Word, but for life in general. You don’t know something, Google it. Seek out multiple sources on an issue so you can cross reference different ideas, then you’ll be able to formulate your own thoughts on a given subject.

Find someone who has already done what you want to do and see if you can get them to be your mentor. You’d be surprise how many people will step out and help you because they remember how hard it was when they started. I believe the saying goes “each one teach one.” Sometimes we need a mentor to help us find our way.

Who’s your mentor?

Who do you look up to?
